KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL HOURS:
9:10 - 11:50 am Morning (AM) Kindergarten 1:00 - 3:40 pm Afternoon (PM) Kindergarten
BUS INFORMATION: All kindergarten students will ride buses home unless other arrangements are made. Please notify your teacher and the office by 9 am if other arrangements are made.
In addition, you will receive a phone call from our Transportation Department notifying you of the bus stop location and approximate pick-up time. Bus riders will be dropped off at the front of the school building and enter through the front doors. Kindergarten teachers will meet AM kindergarten students at the bus for the first several days of school. The next step is to meet them in the Commons. Finally, the AM kindergarten students will make their way to the classrooms independently. Staff will always meet the PM kindergarten students in the front of the building daily. At the end of the day, PM kindergarten students are walked to the buses and side parent pick-up.
Any questions regarding bus transportation for Kindergarten should be directed to the Transportation Department at 614-764-5926.
AM SIDE DROP OFF:
Families dropping off students in the morning may release their child on the passenger side of the car at the side of the building by following the drop off traffic pattern. Staff members are on duty to supervise from 9:00 - 9:10 am. After 9:10 am please park and walk your child to the office and sign them in.
PM SIDE DROP OFF:
Parents may pick up students in the afternoon at 3:35 pm via the side loop. Staff members are on duty to supervise until 3:45 pm.
STUDENT DRESS:
Students should dress for school in clothes that are comfortable, clean, neat, and modest. Shorts may be worn during warm weather. Sneakers/tennis shoes are preferable to sandals for playground safety reasons and physical activities. No flip-flop type shoes. Thank you.
STUDENT ABSENCES: Please call the office or leave a message on the attendance line (614-718-8875 or GTES_attendance@dublinschools.net) when your child will be absent from school.
State laws require:
- We receive a report from a parent or guardian prior to the absence. Please note: You will receive an automated phone call from the school district if your student is late for school or absent.
- All absences are marked unexcused until the parent or guardian provides a note, email or doctor's excuse explaining the absence when your child returns to school.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES:
Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) offers a presale for school supplies. It is a very convenient way to purchase supplies. Look for more information on our website soon.
ELI vs. EL:
ELI is the Early Literacy Initiative. This provides extended time for additional literacy skill practice for those in need. Kindergarten students will be screened over the summer and during the first few weeks of school to determine eligibility. Families will receive a phone call from the teacher if their child qualifies. This opportunity will be available to those who qualify in mid September. The length of the program may vary.
EL stands for English Learner. This also stands for support given to those students learning English. Services are determined based on language proficiency levels and student need. As you have questions about either support, please call the office.
